Hey everyone, if you've gotten the newest Fusion update, as of late January 2026, you'll not a new workflow when creating a new document. They've introduced "Intent Driven Design". Which option you select "Part Design, Assembly Design, Hybrid Design, etc" will modify the UI (making it NOT line up with some of the early lessons that we have).
I'll be working on updated lessons to keep up, but in the meantime, if you select "Hybrid Design" you'll be setup with the closest option to how it used to work (and how our lessons show the UI).
Here's more info on the change, from Autodesk
I just released an updated version of the Vx plugin, that corrects an error I came across concerning the very first save on a new file. If you've purchased the plugin, please download the updated version!

Hello all, I've just added/updated a couple of small sections to the Fusion course to explain and include the new parametric text functionality that Autodesk added to Fusion! This is a feature that I've wanted for a VERY long time, so it's a welcome addition!
In fact, because it was added, I was able to create my first plugin for Fusion, called
Vx - Smart Versioning Parameter
Here's how it works...
This add-in automatically creates and maintains a version_number text parameter in your Autodesk® Fusion® designs. The parameter updates every time you save your file, keeping track of your design versions (v1, v2, v3, etc.).
This is perfect for maintaining embedded version numbers in your sketches as well as in your bodies. For example, if you manufacture parts, the design can integrate the version number into it's geometry for detailed version control.
If it sounds helpful to you, be sure to go to the Autodesk App Store to find out more and download the plugin.
Hello! I wanted to thank you for choosing Fusion For Makers at some point over the last few years! We've just released a completel update version of the course to match how Fusion is on 2025, and you've got access to it for free!
Now, if you've already been through the course, and are sailing along in Fusion, you DO NOT need to go through the new course (unless you just want to brush up).
The lessons are reshot, and update to match the Fusion updates.
I just wanted to make sure that you had access to updated content, as a thank you for being here!
